Giles “Joe” M. Rineer
Joe, beloved husband of Joanne B. Zinn Rineer, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was the son of the late Wesley and Ella Sigman Rineer. Joe lived in Lancaster his entire life and worked as a superintendent for Wickersham Construction Co. for 42 years, heading multi-million dollar jobs after only completing an 8
th
grade education.
He loved the Lord, his wife and family, along with baseball and gospel music. He was also very fond of gardening at home, where deep red roses were his favorite.
In addition to Joanne, his wife of 66 years, Joe is survived by 3 sons: Marty, husband of Sue of Lititz, Bob of Lancaster, and Randy, husband of Patty of California; a daughter, Kimberly of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren: Jill Rineer, wife of Lance Turner; Jolyn Rineer, Giles Rineer, and Heather Weik; 4 great-grandchildren: Harrison, Joseph, Dejore, Kiara, and 2 sisters: Brenda, wife of Ronald Oettel of Lititz, and Elanore, wife of Clifford Aukamp of New Providence.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Robert, husband of Carol and 2 sisters, Dorothy and Linda Rineer.
What was once a whole heart is now half, but will be whole again when we are together in Heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held in DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s name to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
