Betty G. Rittenhouse Stoll

Betty G. Rittenhouse Stoll, aka “Mothra”, died peacefully at her home on Monday, January 18th, 2016 at the age of 92.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Myrtle (White) and Jake Rittenhouse, and the widow of Fritz Stoll.

A graduate of McCaskey High School, Betty proudly served as an Air Raid Warden during WWII and managed the Fashion Bug store at Park City Mall.

“Big Nan,” as she was also known, was a sassy woman who had a sharp wit that stayed with her until the very end. She enjoyed playing board games and pinochle (at which she was often accused of cheating because she almost always won). She loved all animals and was an aficionado of homemade dandelion wine until her dying day…literally.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sherry and Ginger; a son-in-law, Donato; 3 grandchildren, Michelle, Michael and Erik; and a great-granddaughter, Skylar.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy; a sister, Margaret; and a brother, Tom (“Tucker”).

Betty lived a full life. We were very lucky to have her in our lives as long as we did. She will be dearly missed.
