Agnes M. Hess, 91, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on June, 1, 2013.
She was born on January 19, 1922 in Strasburg Twp., the eighth child of Chester and Anna Mowrer Geib.
Agnes blessed many people with her love, laughter, friendship and floral arrangements, especially Boxwood trees. After spending many years as a farmer, she made crafts and had a gift shop at the Lancaster County Winery.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Agnes deeply loved her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Beverly wife of Kenneth Goss, Willow Street; John R. husband of Cheryl Hess of Lancaster; and Carol wife of Joseph Sullivan of Elmira, NY; two grandsons, Stephen Goss (Tanya) of Strasburg, Chad Pollack (Patty) of Elmira, NY, three granddaughters, Sherry Jenkins (Jeremy) Lancaster, Laurie Pollack and Amy Snyder (Robert) both of Elmira, NY; eight great-grandchildren, Ian, Hannah and Abby Goss, Brandon, Tiffani and Nathan Snyder and Josh and Haley Jenkins; and four siblings, Mary Baker, Dorothy Herr, Chester (Ted) Geib and Richard Geib. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her beloved grandson, Mark Goss, and five brothers, George, Jack, Henry, Bill and Bob and two sisters, Mabel Kilefner and Ada Erb.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service from Zion United Church of Christ, 900 Winter Hill Road, Strasburg, PA on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Byerland Mennonite Cemetery.
