Alberta Kessinger Meadowcroft

Alberta Kessinger Meadowcroft, 99, passed away peacefully March 5, 2011 in Lancaster, Pa. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Through all she was a musician who loved to create beauty through music and share her love of music through teaching and performing. She taught music, piano and organ for more than 70 years. She was the National Music Chairman of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, writing many songs for their songbook. She was the National Historian for Kappa Phi Club for Methodist College Women, and Editor of their Songbook. She was organist/choir director of Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon, Pa.;  Fifth Street Methodist Church, Harrisburg, Pa.; Trinity Methodist Church, Havertown, Pa.; and Trinity Presbyterian Church, Berwyn, Pa. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. James A. Meadowcroft of Berwyn, Pa., and Dale E. Meadowcroft of Mechanicsburg, Pa., grandchildren James Ward Meadowcroft, Mark David Meadowcroft, Alison Katherine Meadowcroft and Christine Diane Hoffner and great-grandchildren Abigail Christine Hoffner and Joshua David Hoffner.
