Anna Mae Mcevoy

Anna Mae McEvoy, 84, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Violet Flory Schlenbaker.

A homemaker, Anna worked as a nurse’s aide for various hospitals in the area, and in the delivery room for the former St. Joseph Hospital. She also volunteered for the Red Cross and the MS Society, and also as a phone pal for the Office of Aging. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, and enjoyed reading and music.

Surviving are: 2 sons, Kenneth husband of Cynthia McEvoy of Ephrata, and Robert husband of Mary Ellen McEvoy of Mount Joy; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a half sister, Marie Kimmel of Ephrata. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Donald Schlenbaker.

Funeral Services will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster on Thursday, April 26th at 11 AM with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County P. O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
