Anna Mae Regar, 91, a resident of Evergreen Estates Retirement Community of Lancaster, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.
She was the wife of the late Richard E. Regar who died in 1979. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elmer L. Shopf and Bertha Eshelman Shopf Dillebaugh. She was also the step daughter of the late Oran Dillebaugh.
Mrs. Regar was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Millersville. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital for 32 years and in 2004 was honored for 38 years of dedicated service to Meals on Wheels of Lancaster. Her interests included gardening and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald J. husband of Debbie Regar of Millersville,PA and Richard E., Jr. husband of Charlene Regar of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tracy S. Parido and Katie M. Montgomery both of Lancaster, PA, Jennifer J. Paul of Flower Mound, TX and Rustin J. Regar of Lititz, PA, and six great grandsons and four great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Constance Mentzer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Regar’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551.
