Heaven gained an angel on May 10, 2015 when Audrey Witmer, 79, of Lancaster, went to be with her Lord. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Pleger) Dommel and wife of 61 years to Raymond Witmer.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a retiree of Armstrong World Industries and a member of Faith United Church of Christ.
In addition to husband, Ray, Audrey is survived by children: Kimberly (Douglas) Finkbiner, Landisville and Barry (Lois Nolt) Witmer, Columbia; grandchildren: Kelly Finkbiner (Hunter) Mayfield, Red Lion, Ryan Witmer, Buffalo, NY, Sean (Katelyn Williams) Finkbiner, Lebanon and Kyle Witmer, Olympia, WA; and great granddaughter: Adalynn Mayfield. She was anticipating the birth of “Baby” Finkbiner, due in October.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Audrey and support to her family. God bless each of you for the special individuals you are!
A service celebrating her life, officiated by Pastor John Rieker, will be held on June 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster, PA 17603. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Internment will be private and at the convenience of family.
