Barbara Stauffer McElfish, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Visalia, CA. She was born February 20, 1920 in Leola, PA, a daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy Frey Stauffer. A member of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Barbara had been active with the Junior League and the Lancaster Symphony before her move to California. She was retired from Bell Telephone Co. of PA.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance McElfish Offutt wife of Ray Offutt of Visalia; three grandchildren, Andrew Spain and his wife, Jennifer and their son Jeremiah, Ashley McLelland and her husband Nathan, and Jonathan Offutt; a great-grandson, Charlie Noah McLelland; and a sister, Joan Stauffer Sowers. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter C. McElfish; a daughter, Judith Miller; and a sister, Virginia Stauffer Brinser.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, S. Queen St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, March 28th, at 10:00 A.M.
