Beatrice L. Parrish, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Ephrata Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel R. Parrish who passed away in 1999.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elvin C. and Indiana May (Wilson) Latschar.
After graduating from JP McCaskey High School in 1941she began her career with Hamilton Watch where she worked during WWII. She then worked for Bell Telephone where she spent 20 years as an operator. Her most recent position was with Good & Plenty where she worked in the gift shop.
In her spare time Bea enjoyed crafts, reading, and loved dancing.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Craig Parrish (husband of Debra Hagmann) of Brownstown, PA and a daughter, Pamela Yohn (wife of the late Robert Yohn) of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Snyder and Melissa Boagey; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Makena Snyder. She was predeceased by a brother Harry Latschar; sisters, Doris Myers and Pauline Coral; and a grandson Joey Kemler.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Timothy Mentzer officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park.
