Belva Ellen Gibbs Hartman, 76, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in the hospital at The Villages, FL.
She and her husband Delano R. Hartman celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2012. Born on April 3, 1936 in Stewartstown, PA she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and William Herr.
Belva was a 1954 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. She was employed in the clerical department of Armstrong Cork Company Floor Plant and later a secretary at Hartman & Lapp, Inc. for over 25 years.
She enjoyed boating in the Chesapeake Bay and traveling throughout the United States, spending the last 25 winters in Florida. She and her husband saw many entertainers and enjoyed music. In later years she knitted many prayer shawls for nursing homes. She was an avid BINGO, Pinochle card player and bowler. She also enjoyed spending much time with her grandson taking him to the movies.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Dennis, Cindy and Brian; and one grandson, Cameron.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Edward A. Dickel officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Road, Lancaster, PA on Monday, April 8th at 2:00 P.M.
