Benjamin E. Brubaker

Benjamin E. Brubaker, 98, a resident of Calvary Homes, formerly of Windy Hill Road, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Marian Lefever Smith Brubaker who died in 2010. His first wife the late Ruth Hess Brubaker died in 1975. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Amos and Mary Brubaker.

Benjamin was a longtime poultry farmer in West Lampeter Township and had also stood at a vegetable stand at Central Market for many years. He was a member of Calvary Church and had served as a former usher and board member. In his retirement, he had made 102 dollhouses, many of which were sold at charity auctions. At the age of 87, Benjamin became a self taught computer expert and had done many programs and directories for Calvary Homes.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy H. husband of Ellie Brubaker of Harbor Springs, MI and Philip H. Brubaker husband of Marsha DiBonaventuro of Lancaster; a son-in-law, Clyde Cooper of Lancaster; a step son, Kenneth husband of Gail Smith of NC, a step daughter Phyllis wife of Paul Barnett of Lancaster,8 grandchildren , and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Helen Jane Cooper.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Calvary Fellowship Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Dr. J. Calvin Wenger officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Calvary Fellowship Homes Benevolent Fund, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
