Betty J. Davis

Betty J. Davis, 80, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Rossmere passed away on Tuesday, February 26th at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of C. William “Bill” Davis and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July, 2013. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Bervin and Serena Schmidt Gerhart. Betty was a 1950 graduate of Manheim Twp. High School and retired from Watt & Shand Department Store.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Charles W., Jr., husband of Denise Davis of Mountville; two daughters, Diane L., wife of Stephen Shuster of Landenberg, PA and Joni M., wife of Troy Halligan of Lititz; a stepdaughter, Barbara J., wife of Terry Hurst of Vacaville, CA; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Buckwalter of Lititz, and two brothers, Ivan and Raymond Gerhart, both of Lancaster.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service from Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, March 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
