Betty Jane Good, 89 of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 3, 2014. She was married 57 years to the late Rodney C. Good who died in 2007. Born on April 9, 1924 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late George W. & Rella May Ott Eckert.
She was a member of The Lancaster Church of the Brethren. She worked as a bookkeeper in PA and as a daycare worker in MD. Betty moved back to Lancaster from Charlestown, MD when her husband passed away in 2007. Betty was also a layperson at the St. John’s United Methodist Church in MD where she was active in the church and the children’s Sunday school. She was active in the auxiliary of the VFW and American Legion in MD. She enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle.
Betty is survived by a sister, Florence Chillas, wife of the late Kenneth Chillas, and a brother, George W. Eckert, Jr. husband of Elanor all of Lancaster, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be on Friday February 7, 2014, at Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 with a get together with coffee starting at 10:00 am to celebrate and share Betty’s life, then a memorial service in the Chapel starting at 11:00 am.
