Betty Jane Markley, 82, of Lancaster, died at home on Monday, May 11, 2009.
She was married 63 years to Eugene F. Markley. Born August 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Louise Campbell Kissinger.
Mrs. Markley was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting teddy bears and enjoyed spending time with her Yorkie, Beau.
Surviving besides her husband is a son, Troy S. husband of Robin Markley of Leola; two daughters, Cherie Cheney of Lancaster, and Tammy Markley of Ephrata; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Spinello, a son, Craig Markley, and a granddaughter, Tanya Rosenberry.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with Deacon Expedito Santos officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Markley’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
