Betty Jo Norvell, 99, of Lancaster, passed away on December 27, 2023 at the Mennonite Home. She was the loving wife of the late Marvin W. Norvell who preceded her in death in 2008.
Betty was born in Blackwell, TX, she was the second daughter of the late Arthur and Corine (Vest) Clements. She moved to New Mexico at a young age, where she met her beloved Marvin. They were married on December 27, 1947. They made their home in Las Cruces, New Mexico where Marvin was one of the pioneers at White Sands Missile Range. Betty passed away on what would have been their 76
th
wedding anniversary. Her knight in shining armor took her hand in his and they are now celebrating their new eternal life together.
After graduating from business school, she spent much of her career as a real estate loans processor for Seaborn P and Lelia Jane Collins.
In her spare time, Betty enjoyed playing cards with everyone. She also loved watching western movies, especially John Wayne (The Duke). She loved the Blue Bloods series with Tom Sellek. She doted on her children David and Carolyn, and all of her nieces and nephews who lived with them off and on throughout their childhood. She truly loved children of all ages.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Kim Norvell; Four Grandchildren; Brooke Lockridge and her husband Dustin; Crystal Davis; Michael Cox and his wife Anna; Pamela Burge. Seven Great Grandchildren; Three Great Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews including Sharon Perry; Larry Curtis and wife Joyce; Lori Coupland and husband Dan; Patricia Popovich and significant other J. P. Jones; Debbie Romero and husband Pancho; Rebekah Calloway; Elizabeth Mills and husband Darrell; Luke Schoenfelder; Noah Schoenfelder and wife Jessica; Jay Jefferies and wife Lisa; Alden (Will) Norwood and wife Tara. Many Great Nieces and Nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Marvin W Norvell, daughter Carolyn Cox and son-in-law Steve Cox and her three sisters Fannette, Christine, and Peggy.
