C. Donald Jones
C. Donald Jones, 86 of Lancaster, died January 19th at St Anne’s Retirement Community.
Don was born February 27, 1927 at home to Lester and Anna Jones of Marietta Ave., Rohrerstown, PA. He graduated with honors from Hempfield High School and later in life attended night school at Franklin and Marshall College.
Don was a member of the armed services and served at Fort Knox at the end of WWII. Upon completion of his tour he went back home and married his high school sweetheart, Jonel Jones. After the death of his first wife, Don remarried and is survived by Lois Jones.
He worked at Hamilton Watch early in his career through 1966 and retired from Weinstock Conestoga in 1989. He was also President of the Consistory at Salem UCC in Rohrerstown and an active member of this congregation his entire life. Don also enjoyed traveling, bowling, crafting and sports.
Don is also survived by a daughter; Deborah Malina residing in Middletown, CT. with her husband Kenneth Malina.
A memorial service will be held at the Richard A Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
