C. Theodore Fultineer, 83, formerly of Lancaster, died peacefully at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Born in Weston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Theodore R. and Agnes S. Fultineer and is survived by his companion, Mary Schneebeli.
Ted graduated from Glenville High School, Glenville, West Virginia in 1943 and proudly served 3 years in the United States Naval Reserves during World War II. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1948 with a BS and a major in economics. Ted played basketball and football for Franklin and Marshall and was in Who’s Who among students.
He began his career in accounting specializing in tax, estate and financial planning in 1948 and retired most recently from Kuntz Lesher LLP in 2000. Ted was involved in many civic and service organizations in Lancaster. He was a Charter Member and past president of the Lancaster Sertoma Club. He served on the Boards of The American Red Cross, Multiple Sclerosis Society and as a member and past president of the Lancaster County Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. He was a life member of the PA Institute of CPAs, a member of the American Institute of CPAs and founder, member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Lancaster County. He also had been on the tax and legislative committee of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
Ted was a speaker and lecturer on tax topics for Penn State University, Franklin and Marshall College and the national convention of Associated Builders and Contractors, as well as local business groups.
His past social memberships included Conestoga Country Club, BPO Elks, the Hamilton Club, Sigma Pi fraternity and the Alumni Association of Franklin and Marshall College. His favorite social activity was playing golf during his final years at Olde Hickory.
He will be lovingly missed by his companion, Mary Schneebeli, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his three children: Deborah Fultineer McCartney, C. Frederick married to Kathy (Heidig) Fultineer, Richard F. married to Yuki (Uwasawa) Fultineer, San Pedro, CA and his brother, Richard Fultineer, Pittsburgh, PA. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teddi L. Ochs, his brother, Franklin Fultineer, and his parents, Theodore and Agnes Fultineer.
There will be no service, as per Ted’s wishes.
