Carolyn Mae Mackey

Carolyn Mae Mackey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born on December 26, 1937, Carolyn lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and church community. She was known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and boundless kindness that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carolyn was a pillar of strength and support for her family, always putting their needs above hers. In addition to her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn loved people in her role as pastor’s wife and served her church communities selflessly. She never looked for the spotlight; she just faithfully served the Lord.

Carolyn will be remembered for her faith, love of people, and family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Rev. Frederick R. Mackey; her children, David, Bob (Laura), Ron (Anne), and Rick (Becky); grandchildren, Sara, Christopher, Elizabeth (Brandon), Nathan (Ginny), Emily, Abi (Liam), Sam, Grace, Ben (Emily), and Elena; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Katie, Sammie, and Rynn, her foster sister, Nora Jordon, and family and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, at Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. Carolyn's life will be celebrated on March 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA, followed by a luncheon.
