Catherine (Dommell) Iobst, “slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of her God” on Saturday, July 20, 2013 just having entered her 95
th
year. A Brethren Village resident for the last seven years, she was preceded in death by her first husband DeVon Dommell and her second husband, Llewellyn Iobst.
Catherine was a long-time women’s clothing buyer for the Watt & Shand, Hager’s and Garvins department stores, ending her working career in 1980 as manager of the Raub Supply Company plumbing showroom.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Lancaster but most recently worshipped at the Brethren Village Chapel.
Surviving are two daughters; Wenda, wife of Marvin Ruch, Mount Joy, PA and Cynthia, wife of James Wohlsen, Lancaster, PA; two step-children, Gregory Iobst of New Jersey, and Gwen Balogh of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Heidi Colosi and Todd Wohlsen, both of Lancaster, and Stacy Krous of Tampa, FL; and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the chapel on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
