Catherine M. Strawser, 93, of Lancaster, died on Monday May 27, 2019, in the comfort of her home and in the presence of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William H. Strawser.
Catherine worked at Hamilton Watch, Shick and Hurley Industries, where she was known as “quick fingers” due to her speed and excellent work ethic. She retired in 1988 following the birth of her first grandchild. She was a Sunday school teacher at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church for 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, chatting with her neighbors, spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great- grandchildren grow up.
She is survived by her son, Richard W., husband of Joan Strawser of Columbia; a daughter, Sharon A., wife of Robert Sherick of Mastersonville; three grandchildren, Stephanie N. Yeagle, Morganrae Shenk, Kirsten M. Sherick and three great- grandchildren, Brooklyn I. Yeagle, Kolton E. Yeagle and Kennedy N. Shenk.
She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, beautiful handmade dresses for her grandchildren and love for her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is now united in heaven with her beloved husband William.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Interment in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster, PA.
