Cathy E. Rodruan, 57, of Lititz PA, passed away on June 7, 2012 in her home. She was born on July 15, 1954 in Reading PA to John and Catherine (Moyer) Craley. She lived in Shillington, attending and graduating from Governor Mifflin School District. During her junior year, she began dating William C. Rodruan.
Cathy graduated from Millersville State College (now University) in 1977, and married Bill that same year. They began their life together living in Lancaster, with Cathy working for the School District of Lancaster, at Price Elementary. In 1981, Cathy and Bill moved to Charlotte, NC. During the two years there, Cathy volunteered her time at a local church pre-school.
Cathy and Bill returned to Lancaster County in April 1983, and Cathy promptly increased the family size by delivering Ross W. Rodruan on June 3, 1983. Cathy devoted her time to rearing Ross and volunteering at the family’s church home, Salem United Methodist in Manheim.
In 1992, Cathy and Bill moved again due to Bill’s work, this time to Montreal, Quebec. Cathy’s time was focused on supporting Ross in school and playing the “tour guide” to the various family members and friends that visited.
In 1994, Cathy, Bill and Ross moved back to Lititz. Cathy restarted her numerous volunteer activities, and began substitute teaching. She ultimately taught full-time at Rheems Elementary part of the Elizabethtown School District, where she worked until her retirement in 2005.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bill; her son Ross; her daughter-in-law Barb; her mother Catherine; her brother John (and family); as well as numerous other family and friends.
A woman of strong faith and beliefs, Cathy was well known for her caring and devotion to family and friends. She was also known for her dogs; Boomer and Micah. No dogs had better lives. Finally, Cathy and Bill had fulfilled one of their dreams by building a vacation home in Rehoboth Beach DE.
