Charles Robert Peters
Charles Robert Peters, 79, a devoted, husband, father and grandfather, of Lancaster, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.
He was married 59 years to Joyce Kay Welk Peters. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Dorothy Steffy Peters.
Charles had retired from ACME Markets following 30 years of employment. He enjoyed gardening and long walks in his neighborhood. He loved to go to the beach and to NASCAR races with his family.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Julie K. Garcia (James Garcia), and Doreen K. Peters (Robert Lee Flora); two grandchildren, Amanda Peters and Shane Garcia; a sister, Linda Fox; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Bobby Leigh Flora.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 19, at 11:00 A.M. at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA with Chaplain Brian Blais officiating.. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
