Claire Ann Simonds

Claire Ann Simonds, 79, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on the 8th, February, 2013 at Willow Valley Retirement Community.  She was the loving wife of the late Alfred C. Simonds.

Born on August 17, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Andrew and Clara (Snedaker) Sterner.

She attended Olney High School and later spent her career as a school secretary.

She attended Ascension Lutheran Church in Willow Street, PA

In her spare time she enjoyed Bowling, Water Aerobics, and Crossword puzzles.

She is survived by a daughter Beth Gottfried (husband Alan), and children Moshe, Seth, Estee, Leah; a son John Simonds (wife Gretchen), and children Jake, Sarah, Joshua and step children Anthony, Amelia, Andrew SanFilippo; daughter Janet Mengle (husband James), and children Kevin, Emily, Jenna; son Mark Simonds (wife Amy), and children Matthew and Sydney.  She is also survived by a brother, Robert Sterner (wife Jean).  She is predeceased by a daughter, Ellen Dippel (husband Jeff) and son Zephyr, and step children, Chelsea Cloeter (husband Tim) and daughter Amalia; and Sherm Dippel (wife Jessica).

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Johnson Auditorium of Willow Valley North, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Bowser and Chaplain Glenn Creveling officiating.  Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Ascension Lutheran Church at 600 East Penn Grant Road, PO Box 635, Willow Street, PA 17584-0635.
