Clyde C. “Froggy” Coen, 83, of Mount Joy, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Rheems Nursing Center.
He was the husband of the late Ethel Leppo Coen who died in 1979. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Chester A. and Esther Zeager Coen.
Clyde had worked at the former Auto-Kraft Box Co. in Mount Joy for 42 years and then worked in the bakery at Weis Markets in his retirement years. Clyde was known by many people as the man who sat in his drive and waved to people passing by.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy. Clyde served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during World War II. He was a member of the Mount Joy VFW #5752 where he had served as the Commander from 1996-97 and of the American Legion Post #185.
He is survived by five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Coen and Carl Coen, and by a sister, Anna Aliaga.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 7:30 P.M. with the Rev. Mike J. Martine officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Mount Joy Cemetery.
