Clyde “Pop” Howard Pearson, 78, of Lancaster, Levittown, and Shamokin, PA, decided to place his last order for black coffee, and toast good riddance to his Glioblastoma Brain Cancer, with his wife, Dolores.
Celebrating 57 years of jitterbugging and hot rodding with “Dorie,” Clyde decided to burn rubber through life and end it on his terms. Enjoying the ride in his rumble seat were his children, Katherine Pearson, Stephen Pearson, Dolores “Lori” Brown (deceased), Cheryl Provost, and Wendy Toole. Riding on the back of his motorcycles are 8 grandchildren and 1 ½ great-grandchildren.
Clyde’s incessant hard work as a wholesale car dealer, Chauffeur in retirement, Vagabond Hot Rod Club Member (14+ years), and Member of the East Petersburg Lions Club (49 Years) yielded many benefits to the community for which he earned both a Melvin Jones Fellowship and PA Fellow for his hard work in Lionism. Stoic literalism and guarded risk guided Clyde through his life, blossoming from a shoe shine boy to a loving husband, father, and reliable friend.
Downshift and let ‘er rip, may all others be jealous of his glorious legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East Petersburg Lions Club at 1104 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
Viewings will be held from 5:30- 7:30 PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA and from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 East Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, with the service beginning at 11:00 AM.
