Constance Sheaffer

Constance “Connie” Cortright Sheaffer age 76, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on February 21, 2016 with her son Michael and Daughter in law Tari by her side at Conestoga View Nursing and Rehabilitation Lancaster.

Connie,  born in Lancaster to the late Russell Cortright and Mary Wissler Cortright helped raise a family, studied diligently to become a career oriented Registered Nurse at Lancaster General Hospital and became a strong and independent woman.

Life’s challenges never impeded her willingness to help others, especially those who were similarly debilitated with memory and the aging process.  Connie enjoyed Boyton beach Florida, long rides in the country and animals, especially those feral cats who were always looking for her companionship.

Connie will be deeply missed by loving and very supportive siblings; Caroline Patrick, Charlotte Parsons, Christene Krentz, Cindy Ross, and Howard Cortright.  She is also survived by her son Matthew R. Sheaffer of Gold Beach, Oregon, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A sincere thank you goes out to all of Connie’s caregivers later in life; Dee Stoudt at Lodge Life Services, Brereton Manor, Oak leaf Manor, and Conestoga View.  Lastly,…  Connie will be emphatically missed by her son, Michael Sheaffer married to Tari Sheaffer.

Through life’s circumstance, Connie by virtue of the Holy Spirit, taught Michael to love unconditionally.  She is loved and will be very missed by her family, friends, sisters, brother and sons.  May God bless her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Dr. Keith Braucher. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, Mount Joy, PA.
