Dallas R. “Chuck” Fisher

Dallas R. “Chuck” Fisher, 63 of Lancaster, PA passed away on June 29th at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle against cancer. Born in Ephrata, PA, he was the son of the late Dallas R., Sr. and Janet Jeuell Fisher. He was the husband of Sarah Young Fisher to whom he was married for 39 years.

A 1968 graduate of Cocalico High School, Chuck also graduated from Juniata College with additional credits from Penn State and Millersville Universities. He was a quality control manager at Thermacore, Inc. for the past thirteen years. Previous employment was at the Hershey Medical Center, RCA, Donsco, Korde King and KD Tool.

Chuck was a 30 year member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster where he was an usher leader and past member of Church Council.

Chuck coached HYA soccer and helped coach HYA Volleyball. He was a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor for the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission. The past ten years, he was an accomplished runner, who completed a half marathon at 58. But most of all, he loved attending his children’s volleyball matches: Hempfield boys and girls teams and Catie at Carnegie Mellon.

In addition to his wife, Sarah, Chuck is survived by a son, Robert John Fisher of Lancaster, a daughter, Mary Catherine (Catie) Fisher of Broadview Heights, OH, a niece, Tiffany Jones of California and a nephew, James Robert Jones of Lancaster County.

He was predeceased by his brother, James Robert Jones.

Chuck should be remembered as a wonderful father, husband, friend and worker.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service from First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Sts., Lancaster, PA on Saturday, July 12

th

at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. J. William Lentz, Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Kent E. Kroehler officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service as well as following the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
