Darlene E. Reikard

Darlene E. Reikard, 57, of Lancaster, passed away November 17, 2011 at home. She left this world peacefully and was sent with much love from her family and friends to join her fur friends across the rainbow bridge.

Darlene graduated from McCaskey High School in 1971. She was most recently employed by Y & S Candies.

She is survived by her parents, Edward and Esther Reikard of Lancaster; and by her twin sister and best friend, Sharlene Leppo and her husband Lynn of Grantville. In addition, she is survived by a cherished nephew, Chris Leppo and his wife Elizabeth of Grantville, and beloved niece, Jenny Tharp and her husband Luke of Harrisburg.

Darlene’s love, compassion, and caring for all creatures on earth were a large part of her life and helped make her such a special person. Her humor, easy laugh and true concern for others made her a valued friend to many people. Darlene lived her life to help and serve others with a generous, warm heart. Her life was a celebration and example of a truly purposeful, productive life that made a difference to so many, both human and animal.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lancaster Brethren in Christ Church, 1865 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster, PA.
