Dasa Libuse Redmond, 65, of Lancaster, a longtime resident of the Bedford and Cooperstown, NY areas died peacefully with her family at her side at the Mt Joy Hospice, August 24, 2013, after a lengthy struggle with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born, raised in Czechoslovakia and emigrated to the U.S. in 1969 where she was granted political asylum. Dasa was extremely proud when she received her citizenship in 1977 and to be an American citizen.
Working as a Real Estate broker, Dasa, for many years, was a partner in a Real Estate Investment and Property Management firm based in Bedford Hills, NY
Dasa was active member of the Master Singers of Westchester, the Glimmerglass Opera Guild in Cooperstown but above all she loved to bake and also work in her lavish lavender garden.
Dasa is survived by her husband Richard, a daughter Margot Redmond, a son Nicholas Redmond, Daughter-in-law Jill Redmond and grandson Ezekiel.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 7 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford, NY. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment in the Chichester Cemetery, Bedford, NY. She was a beautiful woman in every definition of the word and will be deeply missed.
