David Hall Ramsden, 90, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Willow Valley Retirement Community. He was the loving husband of the late Wilma S. (Smith) Ramsden.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Jack and Sallie (Hall) Ramsden. He attended Drexel University and spent much of his career with the Budd Company where one of his proudest achievements was participating in the design and manufacturing of the antennas for the Apollo Lunar Rover Vehicle.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in sonar technology.
In his spare time he enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, and volunteer services. He especially loved being part of the Minute Men Organization at Willow Valley Retirement Community.
David was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA and a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Huntingdon Valley, PA.
He is survived by two sons, David H., Jr. husband of Dawn Ramsden of Ottsville, PA, and John G. husband of Carol Ramsden of Huntingdon Valley, PA; a daughter, Janis May wife of Gus Orr of Phoenixville, PA; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at The Orr Auditorium at Willow Valley Manor, 211 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Steven R. Bowser officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, PA.
