Donald B. Jones, 89, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday November 19, 2011 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz, PA after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Ann Oster Jones.
Don was born in Baltimore, MD on February 6, 1922. He was a devoted husband of 61 years and a loving father of his two daughters Stephanie Wallis, wife of Eric Wallis, Westfield, MA and Carol Doyle, wife of Patrick Doyle, Richboro, PA. He is also survived by his five granddaughters Amanda, Brittany, and Courtney Wallis as well as Jessica and Ashley Doyle.
He had a very distinguished career as a chemical engineer with Armstrong World Industries. He had created 2 US Patents. He was a veteran in the US Army during WWII.
Don had a passion for woodworking and photography. He and Ann enjoyed traveling with the Friendship Force. Don was an active member and a lifetime Vestry member of St. James Episcopal Church.
He was a selfless genuine man who had a heart of gold and had a passion for helping others. He will be truly missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, corner of Duke & Orange Sts., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM. Visitation will occur from 10-11AM. Interment will follow the memorial service in St. James Memorial Gardens.
