Donald G. Boughman, 87, of Lancaster, died peacefully at Mennonite Home, surrounded by family, on Monday, March 29, 2010. Born in Walnut Bottom, PA, he was the son of the late Emory and Harriet Hefflefinger Boughman. He was married for 62 years to the late Audrey Leininger Boughman, who passed before him in January of 2006.
Don was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 55 years. He graduated from McCaskey High School, class of 1941, and was a United States Army veteran, serving our country in World World II. He enjoyed reminiscing with fellow veterans at the American Legion Post #34. For 42 years, he was employed by Armstrong World Industries, retiring in 1985 as a foreman in the coating department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved nature and being outdoors, playing cards and Bingo, and watching sports on television, especially cheering on the Phillies.
Don is survived by three daughters; Drinda wife of Dennis Cunningham, Donna wife of Glenn Weidman, both of Lancaster, and Bonita wife of Robert Enders, Eden, NC; seven granddaughters: Deana Mahlandt, Holly Williams, Kristin Fink, Erica Weidman, and Brittany, Maclaine and Madison Enders; five great grandchildren: Jordan, Justin, and Julia Williams and Mya and Dylan Mahlandt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mennonite Home for the loving care extended to Donald during his four years there.
The funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 517 North Queen Street, Lancaster on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Stephen Verkouw officiating. Family and friends will be received at the Church prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
