Donald J. Biemesderfer, 85, of Lancaster, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital.
He was married 41 years to Beverly Ritz Biemesderfer. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Ira and Mary Lefevre Biemesderfer.
Donald was a 1948 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School and then went on to Lehigh University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed as a CAD operator most of his life.
He was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where he had been active with the Senior Shepherds Group and the Senior Choir. He was an antique car enthusiast, and as a member of the American Antique Car Association he attended many car shows in the state. For years he enjoyed attending the Summer Lemonade Concert series at Highland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving besides his wife is a step son, Brian D. Hamilton; two step daughters, Lynne A. Hamilton and Terri E. Hartz; four step grandchildren; a sister Nancy Wurst; and a niece and a nephew.
Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Biemesderfer’s memory may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or to the American Heart Association.
