Dorothy J. Witmer
Dorothy J. Witmer, 76, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Conestoga View. She was the loving wife of Benjamin J. Witmer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Edith (Bender) Trego.
She attended East Lampeter High School.
In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, gardening and playing with her dachshunds.
Surviving, in addition to her husband are 2 daughters; Cynthia Welk, Tammy Kopp (wife of Dale); and a son Richard Welk (husband of Brenda); 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-children; Ben Witmer Jr. (husband of Sherry), Cindy Thatcher (wife of Albert), Sandy Hohenwarter (wife of Duane), David Witmer, Terry Albright, and Vicki Jewel (wife of Gary). She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Trego and a sister Charlotte (wife of Bobby Weller).
You are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Witmer family home located at 1642 Zarker Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9638.
