Dorothy Marie Borthwick

Dorothy Marie Borthwick, 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Moravian Manor where she was well cared for during her illness with cancer.  She was born in Lancaster, PA to Otto R J Pachelbel and Bertha Gerhart Pachelbel on October 16, 1921.  Dorothy graduated from McCaskey High School in 1939 and Millersville State Teachers College in 1943.  Dorothy married Warren R Borthwick June 27, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lancaster.  They were married 55 years when Warren died in 1998. Dorothy was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. After teaching 8 years in Columbia, PA she retired to raise her son Ronald David Borthwick. She later became a partner with her husband in his cabinet making shop and had a big vegetable garden behind the shop. She enjoyed her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her son Ronald, married to Linda Clark Borthwick of Manheim, grandson Ronald Jr., married to Melanie, granddaughter Lee Erin, married to Brian Clark and 6 great grandchildren, Joseph, Gavin, Macy, Brock, Skylar, and Morgan and a brother, Robert “Bob” Pachelbel and his family.

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1:00PM.
