Edna H. Falk, 93, a resident of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, died peacefully at the home on Friday, September 25, 2015.
She was the wife of the late James W. Falk who died in 1991. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frank G. and Edna R. Herman Horner.
Edna was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, where she had served as an elder. She was a graduate of the former West Lampeter High School and Millersville State Teachers College. She taught school briefly and worked five years in the Bureau of Interior Decoration at Armstrong Cork Company. Edna had worked in the office of her husband’s business, Jim Falk Plumbing and Heating. After Jim’s death, she became interested in botanical illustration and studied at Longwood Gardens for many years. She had been a member of the IRIS Club and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving is a daughter, Susan F. wife of Christopher Frese of Conestoga; a son, Thomas J. husband of Deborah A. Falk of Millersville; four grandchildren, Katherine S. Frese, James C. Frese, Amy F. wife of Trevor Wiker and Julie A. Falk. She was preceded in death by a brother Ellis Horner and by a sister Miriam Bragg.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 5, at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Dr. Geoff Kohler officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Memorial Gardens of the Church will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Falk’s memory may be made to Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to a charity of one’s choice.
