Edna Marie Eckman
Edna Marie Eckman, 91, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Manor Care in Lebanon, PA where she was a resident for the past 24 months.
Edna was born on February 11, 1926 in Kansas and lived in Southern California for most of her life. She was proud to be a Californian. Edna retired from Deft, Inc in Irving California in 1993 and moved to Lancaster County, PA. She was a hard worker and was definitely matriarch of her family. Edna enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, bus trips, dancing and attending shows and plays.
She was proceeded in death by husbands Emmet C. Eckman and Paul Shimp and a granddaughter Michelle Malin. Surviving her are 6 children; Kathleen wife of Gordon Chase of Lititz, PA, Eloise wife of Robert Slagle of Cottonwood, Arizona, Dawn wife of Timothy Diehm of Lititz, PA, Dennis Rose husband of Kim of Rio Linda, California, Paula wife of Kevin Rezende of Torrance California and Linda Eckman-Wissler wife of Leo of Columbia, PA, 15 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren and 3 great greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lebanon Manor Care for the excellent and compassionate care that she received there.
A memorial service will be held at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home 141 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Friday, March 31st at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Timothy Sadler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Lititz Meals on Wheels, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, PA 17543.
