Edward Friedman at the age of 82, entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord at Calvary Fellowship Homes on Tuesday, May 7
th
2019.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 29, 1936 to the late Harry and Hester Friedman. He was the loving husband of Barbara Friedman for 57 years and enjoyed the privilege of raising four wonderful children together: Jamie Friedman of Paris France, husband of Murielle Friedman; Pastor Randy Friedman of Chester PA, husband of Pam Friedman; Lisa Friedman of London UK, fiancé to John Ambler; and Lori Friedman Choi of Falls church VA, wife of Samuel Choi. French foster daughter, Silvana Cureton of Pratsville, Alabama wife of Ray Cureton.
Grandfather to Joyanna Friedman, Naomi and husband Paul Smith, Michael Friedman, Amanda and husband Brian Latshaw, Jennifer Friedman and fiancé Daniel Smallwood, and Joshua Friedman. Chad and Carrie Cureton.
Great-grandfather to Josiah and Lydia Latshaw.
Although Ed and Barbara attended the same Sunday school and elementary schools they didn’t know each other until they met on a blind date (arranged by the Lord) and were married a year later. Ed studied at The Philadelphia Bible Institute and Columbia Bible College. After having two little boys the Lord called them to Paris France as missionaries with TEAM, The Evangelical Alliance Mission, where they ministered and called home for 37 years. After helping with five church plants the mission encouraged them to start counseling TEAM missionaries around the world. They eventually helped the TEAM counseling department create the Timothy Network, a group who finds Care Givers/Pastors to minister to Missionaries for all of TEAM fields.
Ed and Barbara moved to Calvary Fellowship Homes in 2005 and continued their ministry until 2013 when Ed had health issues and retired. Ed was very happy at Calvary. From January until now he was in Personal Care. Barbara and the family want to thank the staff as well as Hospice for the more than excellent loving and personal care given to Ed.
