Edward W. Shenk, Jr., 86, formerly of Frogtown Road, Pequea, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Manassas, VA.
He was the husband of the late Anna Mae Geist Shenk who died in 1982. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Edward E., Sr. and Catherine Aston Shenk.
Edward retired from Armstrong World Industries. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Marticville United Methodist Church, Pequea Valley Sportsmen Assoc., VFW Post 1690, Lancaster, American Legion Post 603, Quarryville, Riverside Camping Association, In and Out Club of Lancaster and the Fin & Feather Club. His interests included Hunting, gardening, football and watching game shows.
Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn M. wife of James Easley of Lancaster, a son, Robert S. Shenk of Newport Ritchey, FL; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Edward W. Shenk III, by a sister Mary Ann Shuman and by brothers Paul R. McDonald and Charles Shenk.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 (TODAY) at 3:00 P.M. at Riverview Burial Park, 1100 South Duke St., Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association of the American Cancer Society.
