Edwin G. Miller

Edwin G. Miller, 87, of Lancaster, PA died peacefully at home with  family at his side on Saturday, March 19, 2016.

He was the husband of Phyllis Foreman Miller.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Sanford P. and Jean Garvin Miller.  He graduated with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Lafayette College.

Ed spent 38 years as an industrial engineer with R.C.A. of Lancaster.

His life always circled around family events and church activities.  He was a sports enthusiast; a member of Manheim Township’s first team named “Blue Streaks,” a member of the first football team, winning baseball and basketball teams.  He was inducted into Manheim Twp. athletic Hall of Fame.   From childhood he participated in choral groups, including 50 years with Grandview Methodist Church choir, high school and college choirs, “Wesley Singers” and Homestead Village Harmony Chorale.  He was an active member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

He was an avid golfer and bridge player.  He participated in the Lancaster Historical Walking tour for 30 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edwin Randall, husband of Debbie Miller of Oakhurst, NJ, a daughter-in-law, Sarah Baybutt; and the following grandchildren: Dawn K. Miller, Justine B. (Matthew) Sillers, Elizabeth R. Miller and a great-grandson, Parker James Sillers.    He was preceded in death by his son Geoffrey B. Miller.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service in Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster PA on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.  Family will greet friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
