Elaine Louise Hoover
Elaine Louise (Herr) Hoover, 60, of Lancaster, died peacefully Friday, September 14, 2012 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy after a long fight with cancer. She and her husband, Nelson C. Hoover, celebrated 39 years of marriage on August 19.
Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Carl B. and the late E. Lois (Hess) Herr.
Elaine graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1970 and worked as a bookkeeper, most recently at EnergyWise Consulting in Lancaster.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church and volunteered at Locust Grove Mennonite School.
In addition to her husband, Nelson, Elaine is survived by two sons, Ryan L. Hoover, fiancé of Britany L. Butler of Lancaster; and Keith J. Hoover, husband of Jenelle C. (Hershey) Hoover of Lititz; two grandchildren, Levi J. and Sophia L. Hoover; her father Carl B. Herr of Lancaster; one brother, Larry E., married to Barbara (Nolt) Herr of Lowville, NY; and two sisters, Nancy J., married to Clifford Charles of Lancaster, and Susan K., married to Steven Neff of Trout Run, PA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service from Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA on Thursday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, September 19th from 6:00-8:00 p.m, and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held and at the convenience of the family.
