Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Haines

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Haines, 84, of Lititz, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the United Zion Retirement Home.

She was the wife of the late Alan P. Haines who died in 2001.  Born in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late Bernard J. and Ruth N. Tucker Mazzullo.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Leola.  She was a member of the Bridge Club and a former member of the Women’s Club of Lancaster.  Betty enjoyed gardening, bird watching and feeding, spending time with her family and was very proud of the professional musical performances given by her children.

Surviving are two sons, Alan P., Jr. husband of Joanne Haines of Baltimore, and Michael S. husband of Robin Haines of Lenexa, KS; three daughters, Melinda S. wife of Joseph Zimmerman of Lititz, Letitia H. wife of Stephen Brown of Manheim, and Laurie A. wife of Tom Reese of Mt. Joy.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a sister Joan wife of Henzo Bozzonetti of Middletown, DE.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Adrianne B. Hummel, by a brother Bernard Mazzullo and by a sister Delores DeMille.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Newell Embley officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Andi and Bill Hummel Scholarship Fund, payable to Hempfield High School, c/o Mary Lynne Kniley, 200 Church St., Landisville, PA  17538.
