Elizabeth M. Mccauley
Elizabeth McBlane McCauley, 96, a resident of Arbor View at Willow Valley, died on Friday, December 9, 2016.
She was the wife of the late Harold A. McCauley who died in 1996. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. McBlane and Estella A. Wagner McBlane.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor’s Degree and her Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She had taught Business at Radnor High School for 32 years, where she focused on typing, shorthand and developing the IBM Office Machines Course. She was a member of the Saturday Club of Wayne, the Radnor Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Kappa Delta Alumnae and the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Her hobbies included pinochle and needlepoint. Earlier in life she and Harold and traveled extensively, both internationally and domestically.
Surviving are two nephews, George McBlane, Jr. (Amy) and Steven McBlane (Tracy).
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17, at 10:30 A.M. in the Orr Auditorium at Willow Valley Manor, 211 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Maryliz Clark officiating. Interment in Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Willow Valley Benevolent Fund, or to the Brunner Nurse Education Fund, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602.
