Ellen C. “Dolly” St. Arnaud, 70, of Lancaster, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy after a lengthy illness.
Born in Quincy, MA she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Pinnette and Anthony and Elsie (Brayall) Polini.
Ellen had worked as an auditor for Lancaster County Mental Health and Metal Retardation (MH/MR) for 20 years retiring in 2001. Following retirement she worked for the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) for 6 years.
She was a member of the Faith Evangelical Congregational Church in Lancaster where she was the Treasurer of the Ambassador Sunday School Class and Chair of the Fellowship Commission. Ellen was a volunteer for Hope House, President of the Board of Directors for Rape Aid and Prevention, President of the Lancaster County Employees Credit Union for 6 years, and was a Crisis delegate for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, the Arts, nature, animals, gardening and cooking.
Surviving is a son, Glenn R. husband of Dawn Dupont of Columbia; two daughters, Ellen K. (Dupont) wife of Douglas Snyder of Ephrata, and Jill L. (St. Arnaud) wife of Michael Weinstein of Lancaster, and five grandchildren, Tamra, Victoria, Benjamin, Meghan and Emily, 2 step grandchildren, Tim and Dave Snyder and a step great-granddaughter, Gabby. She will also be sadly missed by her loyal companion, her dog Buddy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. at the Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, 2124 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA with Pastor Joel Kime officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 3:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
