Ellen Rudeen Dorn
Ellen Rudeen Dorn, 91, of Willow Street, PA; passed away on Sunday July 14, 2013. Ellen was born in East Orange, N.J. on June 9, 1922. She graduated from Glen Ridge High School and the Berkeley School. A multi-sport star, Ellen was named to the all-state field hockey team in 1938 and 1939.
Ellen was married to Wesley Jay Dorn on May 9, 1959; they were married 53 years, and lived in Livingston, N.J.
She worked as a Red Cross nurse’s aide during World War II and then for the Prudential Insurance Company through 1962. She enjoyed bowling, golf, bird watching, gardening and reading.
Ellen is survived by her devoted son Kyle and his wife Delia and her loving grandchildren Janelle and Taylor. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Jay.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
