Estella “Betty” Beck Christman, 92, of Lancaster, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Donald H. Christman who died in 1996. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Estella Beck. Mrs. Christman had worked 24 years at Slaymaker Lock and then for Radio Script Services before retiring from WLAN. She was a graduate of the former Stevens High School. Estella was a 50-year member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Her interests included crocheting, bingo and doting on family and friends. Surviving is a son, Donald B. Christman of Lancaster; and a sister-in-law, Linda wife of Niel Quier of Allentown; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her long-time friends, Mary and Melvin Fisher and their family. She was preceded in death by a stepfather, Charles E. Eager; by sisters, Romaine B. Styer and Frances B. Bell; by stepbrothers, Raymond E. Eager and Robert Eager; and by a stepsister, Mary Gilgore. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. David D. Kreider officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
