Evelyn K. Cottrell, 93, a resident of Country Meadows, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy.
She was married 65 years to the late Richard B. Cottrell who died in 2004. Born in Bradford, OH, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Orissa Orndorf Katherman.
Mrs. Cottrell was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster. She was a member of the Garden Club, was an avid sewer who enjoyed dress making and quilting, and was known to have made the best pot pie and grape pies on the East Coast.
Surviving is a son, S. Jeffrey husband of Donna Cottrell of Savannah, GA; a daughter, Stephanie M. McAfee of Morgantown; two granddaughters, Kathleen W. White of Chesterfield, VA and Rebecca J. Burns of San Francisco, CA; two great grandchildren, Gabriella A. White and Jackson G. White; and two nieces, Marilyn Story of FL and Robin Katherman of CA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 P.M. until the time of the service.
