Fay L. Minnig, 89, of Lancaster, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Mennonite Home.
She was married 67 years this past Saturday to Morris W. Minnig. Born in Tremont, PA she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Oxenrider Adams.
Mrs. Minnig was a registered nurse, graduating from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, and retired from Lancaster General Hospital in 1978 after 20 years of employment.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, and had volunteered in many capacities at the church. She enjoyed reading and cooking.
Surviving besides her husband is a daughter, Karen Minnig of Lancaster; a son, Gary M. husband of Nadine Minnig of Northbrook, IL; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Barbara Daggett of Manheim. She was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Ernie Adams.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. David M. Myers. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 29 E. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
