Florence L. “Flossie” Hullihen, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
She was married 47 years to the late George E. Hullihen who passed away in 1996. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William K. and Mae B. Auchinbaugh Stitley.
Mrs. Hullihen was a member of the Church of the Apostles and prior to that had been a longtime member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and enjoyed the time she spent with the 45ers of McCaskey. Flossie was an active member of the YMCA and was involved with the Lancaster Twalkers.
Surviving is a daughter, Barbara A. Straub of Lancaster; a son, James M. husband of Dona M. Hullihen; two grandchildren, Karen L. Straub of Lancaster, Angela M. wife of Adam Smith of Lancaster; a step grandchild, Melissa J. Siwiec wife of Christopher Jahnke; two great grandchildren, Ryder J. Smith and Westyn S. Smith; a step great grandchild Max C. Mele; a sister, Betty L. wife of Franklin Hullihen of Mount Joy; two nieces, Carol L. Houghton and Kendal E. wife of Charles Drivas; and a nephew Kevin P. Hullihen. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl R. Houghton and Sarah E. Kalogeras, by a brother Clyde Sterner and by a step grandson, Jeffrey W. Siwiec.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
