Florence Pyle Towers, 89 of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late James K. Towers Jr., loving mother of Mary (John) Gooding of Lancaster, James K. (Connie) Towers III of Lancaster, Virginia (Michael) Post of Quakertown, PA, and Jeanne (Eugene) Spinelli of Haddonfield, NJ., endearing grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 13. She was born August 31, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, graduated from Ogontz Junior College, worked at Highland Presbyterian Nursery School for 10 years and, as a resident of Brethren Village, volunteered at its Day Care Center. Florence and James were charter members of Highland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sailing on the Susquehanna River with her husband, spending time at the beach and cherishing every moment with her large family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy to all those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster, PA, 17602 on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday, December 1st from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the address above.
